Marie Wilkinson was awarded The Lumen Christi Award to honor exemplary missionary service to the Church in the United States. This scholarship originated from funds donated by Catholic Extension to the Diocese of Rockford and Bishop Thomas G. Doran. The scholarship endowment will benefit needy students attending Aurora Central Catholic High School. Preference should be given to students of St. Rita of Cascia Parish since Marie was an active member for over 50 years. The recipient(s) of this scholarship shall be nominated jointly by the principal and pastor/administrator of St. Rita of Cascia Parish based on financial need and submitted to the principal of Aurora Central Catholic High School. If no qualified eighth grade student plans to attend Aurora Central Catholic High School, the earnings will be retained for the next year. The $500 annual scholarship may be renewed annually if the student remains in good standing and if earnings are available for distribution. The distribution will be requested by the principal of St. Rita of Cascia School with the check sent directly to Aurora Central Catholic High School.
